About Us
The Alabama Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (ALAPTA) is a statewide professional organization representing almost 790 members who are physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education throughout Alabama. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a nationwide professional organization represents over 71,000 members. 
 


The mission of the Alabama Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association is to enhance the profession, and themembers’ ability to provide clinical practice, education, and research that is consumer centered and characterized by integrity and excellence. 



ALAPTA will advance the recognition and development of physical therapists as practitioners of choice with unrestricted direct access for the diagnosis of, interventions for, and prevention of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities related to movement, function, and health. And... ALAPTA will promote the recognition and development of the physical therapist assistant.
