There is new information posted on the CMS website about the strategies RACs will use in determining what types of reviews to do first. For example, will they focus on black/white issues of coding first? or will they tackle the appropriateness of DRGs or RUG levels? or will they focus on medical necessity?

Alabama is considered a "blue state" in the RAC schedule, which means our state is in the 3rd (& last) wave of RAC activity. However, activity is expected to begin in August 2009.
