Q: "Why was the ALAPTA PAC formed?"
A: ALAPTA PAC was formed to empower physical therapists to be more involved in the determination of state laws and policies. ALAPTA decided to create a mechanism that would allow the physical therapy profession to channel its financial and grassroots support to help elect candidates to the state legislature who are responsive to the physical therapy profession's goals and viewpoints.
Q: "Who directs ALAPTA-PAC activities?"
A: The ALAPTA Board of Directors recently appointed a seven member Government Affairs Committee (GAC) including one member form each of the Alabama Federal Congressional Districts and a PAC Chair. The Chair of the GAC and the ALAPTA Board of Directors are in frequent contact particularly during the legislature session. The GAC makes recommendations as to the distribution of PAC contributions with input from members, District Key Contacts, and our lobbyist.
Q: "I need to contact Blue Cross and Blue Shield about a matter regarding a patient in our clinic. Do you have a number that I can call so that I don't have to chase all over the building to find who I need"?
A: Sure. BCBS has quite a few helpful numbers. A list is provided. If any of these numbers do not work, please let us know so that we may update them.
