ALAPTA is a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization. Contributions or gifts to ALAPTA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, membership dues may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses and contributions or gifts may be tax deductible under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Home-Based and Internet-Based Courses

The Alabama Chapter of APTA reviews and recommends (sponsors) certification of Home-Based and Internet-Based Courses. The actual approval for CEU's comes from the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy.  The following requirements apply:

Courses are approved for a 2-year term,
Must be a minimum of 2 hours in length,
Must be available to the general public,
Must be reviewed by ALAPTA,
Must be approved by the AL Board of PT prior to taking the course.
