UPDATE ON MEDICARE PART B PAYMENT POLICIES
RECORDED WEBINAR
Speaker: Ellen Strunk, PT, MS, GCS, CEEAA
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services updates its payment policies for Medicare Part B services annually. More importantly, Medicare is transforming itself into an active payer of quality therapy services. This webinar will review the latest changes in Part B services that affect physical therapy practitioners who practice in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation agencies and home-based private practice. With the transition to measuring patient care processes and outcomes of care, the policies finalized in this rule will affect therapy payment in future years. Attend to learn about PQRS for 2016, the plans for moving away from CPT codes for PT evaluation, and the Merit Incentive Payment Plan scheduled for Part B providers in less than five years. Understanding your patient’s healthcare benefit and documenting to support those services are professional responsibilities for all clinicians.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, participants will:
1. Understand the 2016 payment policies for Medicare Part B services.
2. Implement successful quality reporting for PQRS in 2016.
3. Prepare for payment reform scheduled for the physical therapy evaluation codes.
