The Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) was developed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for clinicians interested in or involved with clinical education. The course addresses planning and preparing for students, developing appropriate learning experiences, supporting ongoing learning through questioning and effective feedback, building skills in performance evaluation, understanding applicable compliance & regulatory issues, and facilitating successful clinical education experiences.
The information presented is useful for both new and experienced clinical instructors. The Assessment Centers provide participants the opportunity to apply information from the program to simulated cases. Sixteen (16) contact hours of continuing education are awarded for the course. Successful completion of the Assessment Centers results in APTA Clinical Instructor Credentialing. Each participant must attend all sessions of the course to be eligible for credentialing.
Professionals from other disciplines are welcome to attend the program. They are not eligible to become APTA Credentialed Clinical Trainers and receive twelve (12) contact hours of continuing education.
